I was recently called into Young Women’s class as an advisor. Today we had a meeting where we talked about the Child and Youth program a little. I’m so excited because I was asked to oversee the new Child and Youth Program for the Young Women. This is something I have really enjoyed planning with my kids. It reminds me so much of when I was in Achievement Days and when I did personal progress. My biggest thing that I struggle with this program is there is nothing super fun or frilly to this program. You choose goals in four different areas to help you become more like Christ. The areas of personal development are social, emotional, physical, and spiritual.
I decided to go onto amazon and purchase key chains or my children to show case the goals that they complete. Each time they complete a goal I will print off a cute banner and put it in an acryllic key chain sleeve and add a tassle. They will then get to pick a fun and playful keychain to also add to their key chain bunch. Below are links to the key chains we purchased for our children.
I thought of this idea because when my oldest son was a toddler he used to take my sister’s gigantic key chain the second she walked through the door. Her car keys were on that and we spent a lot of time looking for them. However, it is still one of my favorite memories to see him packing around her huge key chain collection.
In addition to the key chains I also looked up personal development books on etsy to print off for each of my children. Wen had a specific family home evening where we talked about different goals the kids wanted to set.
