For one of my children counting money is a real struggle. We have bought her lots of resources over the years. Here are some of the things that she really enjoys and new things we purchased to help her. Keep in mind, in my normal fashion, I really like to make everything as fun as possible. Why would you do loads and loads of workbooks when you can play a make believe store or play a board game.
Recently I found this game for my daughter and decided to also buy her a pretend cash register. I really want her to be able to make change when she gets older. She wants to own her own bakery and giving change back and counting change is a very important skill for that. Additionally, we bought a workbook to go over basic money concepts to make sure that there’s no gaps.
My daughters favorite game is one I created called Bake Off – A Money Game. It can be found on my Teacherspayteachers store by clicking on the name up above. There are other versions to this game including a zoo version, a car racing version, and a pet vet version. They can also be found on my Teacherspayteachers store.
