Honest Review of the Good and the Beautiful Science
Is this a homeschool science that I would recommend? We have done The Good and the Beautiful science every year since we started homeschooling except this year. We’ve tried many other things as well even if it wasn’t for a whole year. Continue to read about this curriculum and how I feel about it.

It is such a relief that a whole family of different ages can sit down and learn with this science. I’m so grateful that I started off with The Good and the Beautiful science when we started homeschooling. I had three school aged kids and a toddler. It would’ve been about impossible for me to do teach individual math, language arts, and science to my kids. Some people might worry that it makes it too hard for the younger kids and too easy for the older kids. However, this is certainly not the case. I loved that each unit taught the topics in depth allowing each age to glean from it what they could. There were other parts each age could enjoy as well.

One of those all my children could enjoy was the science experiments. Compared to other curriculums, I loved that the experiments were not just busy work. They were directly related to the topic we were covering. What if you just don’t have time to do the experiments, or you don’t have the right supplies? They still have you covered. The Good and the Beautiful science team have short videos that shows someone doing the experiment. As a busy mom, we took advantage of these videos often. Was there more to enjoy in this curriculum?

A more recent change to The Good and the Beautiful Science that I have appreciated hi was the journal notebooks. When we first started with The Good and the Beautiful science curriculum, I had to copy off journal pages for each of my kids each day. During that five minutes, I would totally lose their attention. It made it really hard to get them focusing again. They started selling full color journal notebooks that are ready to go. They are a very affordable price and are visually appealing. I have really appreciated this change in their curriculum.
If I love all of these things in this curriculum, you might ask why I am not using it this year. The biggest drawback some parents could have with The Good and the Beautiful Science is that it is very teacher intensive. This is the reason that I am not doing it this year. At the end of last year, I started to go through some very difficult health challenges. I knew that for at least one year I needed my children’s science to be independent. I do not plan on doing this year’s curriculum next year, however.

Now what is my honest review of the Good and the Beautiful science. Taking everything into account, I have really enjoyed and appreciated this curriculum. Although I have tried other things, I have kept coming back to The Good and the Beautiful science. From the full color workbooks to the very in depth learning, it just works well for our family. I’m not sure if we will use it into high school, but I love it for all of my elementary children.
