I am a homeschool mother of 6. I don't have everything figured out, but I can help you with the experience I do have. Please join me as Christian mothers who seek answers through prayer in study in raising our children in a Godly way.

Some Apps on your phone or computer can cost money and take up unwanted space. Others are absolutely essential and a gigantic help to your way of life. Here is apps I do and don’t recommend

Apps I Recommend

ABC Mouse

ABC Mouse has been a huge help for me with especially my preschool and kindergarten age children. When they get done early or I don’t quite have time to work with them, they can work on ABC Mouse on my phone or their tablets. That has eliminated a lot of guilt on my part that I wasn’t doing school with them. Also it has given them something to do when they want to be a part of our school and not play anymore.

Libby

Libby is an app that syncs to your library card. It has books you can read on your phone similar to having a kindle. It also has audio books you can check out and listen to. We have used this app for both. My husband, my oldest son, and I are constantly using this app for books. It has been life changing.

Paprika 3

Paprika is a meal planning and shop list app that can make meals so much easier in your home. You can download recipes right into the app, and the app will make you a list of the groceries you need. You can even put the food you have in your pantry into the app so it only tells you what you actually need.

Night Zookeeper

I highly recommend Night Zookeeper. My children loved this app. It is a language arts app where children can practice writing and grammar. It was difficult with my youngest children because they aren’t proficient at typing yet. However, if you’re children are proficient, then I highly recommend this app. It is learning while having fun.

Rosi Mosi

I purchased Rosi Mosi and I can have the app on each of my children’s amazon fire tablets. It’s a wonderful app that allows your children to practice educational principles without wasting a lot of time when you’re not looking. Unlike other apps, the games are highly integrated into the education.

Apps I Don’t recommend

Adventure Academy

This app is kind of difficult for my children to maneuver. It requires them to move around on the computer track pad at just the right amounts. Perhaps, that issue could be solved with a computer mouse. However, I also don’t like that the children can spend hours on the app without actually doing anything educational. Even when they are supposedly practicing math, I don’t feel like the games are very helpful. They can also watch the same science movies over and over on the app. Furthermore, it is very rare that we don’t have to wait very long period of times to wait for the app to load the most current version. All in all it has a lot of issues, and I really hope they improve it.
