Milk Cow vs. Karate Mom
I mentioned a while back how I used my karate bow staff (long stick) to make me LARGE and SCARY to my milk cow. For the last several times that I’ve milked Lullabell my stick has made a difference. So if my stick is working what am I writing this post about? I got the cow in very easily. Everything was going beautifully. I got her out of the several pens good with my karate stick. She ran down the alley to the barn just fine. When we got to the barn our Momma horse Mary and her baby Boaz were in the barn. It wasn’t too bad of a set back. With my scary stick Lullabell ran past her with her baby trailing close by her. Lullabell went in the shoot nice and easy and I got her foot tied up. I was so proud of myself for getting Lullabell in.
I started washing her utters off when Mary the horse started to pick on Lullabell’s calf. I don’t know why she couldn’t just leave the baby alone. He would come close to his Mom and she would chase him off. He wasn’t doing anything to her or baby Boaz. Yet, she kept tormenting him.

At last, I came to the conclusion that Mary was going to pose a significant complication to my operation. I got Mary and Boaz out and realized Lullabell’s foot was kind of loose. When I went to tighten the rope on her foot she backed up and the head catch didn’t hold her in. You would think after the first escapade I would have tried to learn from my handsome cowboy how to keep the cow in. Nevertheless, here I was in my predicament. Lullabell ran off with the rope tied to her foot and her baby followed close behind. I had to get Lullabell back in with my karate stick which took work like usual. Then I tied her foot back up and washed her utters again. My handsome came to sit with me until I was done. He got Lullabell back in for me while I took the fruits of my labors back to the house.
I’m not sure who won this battle. Lullabell was able to sneak out of the shoot on me again. Yet I did get milk after all. Until next time on the milk cow saga.
