First Year Supplements

Homeschool First Year Supplements

This year I might have gone a little crazy with worrying about my kids education. Many thoughts were going through my mind. What if they aren’t prepared for college? Can I possibly teach my 2nd grader multiplication next year? Is this curriculum teaching them to write good enough?

I bought so many supplements to try to add to The Good and the Beautiful Curriculum. I have different reasons for trying out these different supplements. Some of them I got to add fun to my children’s education. The tablets I bought to do when we go in the truck with Dad when he’s feeding the cows or other errands at work. The kids are only allowed to do the school games on the tablets during school time. Some of these also work well when we are driving to Idaho to visit family. The kids are able to do more independent work with the supplements. The Good and the Beautiful Curriculum doesn’t offer much of that without adult instruction first. Here is a list of some of the different things we’ve used.

I went just a little crazy buying extra things. Some of these things were mostly for summer, but we used a little during the school year. For instance, I bought the Abeka math workbooks to do over the summer of 2022 with my kids. I also bought it so I could try it out and make sure I wanted to stick with The Good and the Beautiful which I do. However, I don’t mind having the workbooks for independent work.

What supplements do you us? Have you found an amazing curriculum that you don’t need supplements for? I would love to know. Please feel free to comment below.
