Our New Homeschool Space!
Our first year of homeschooling we did around the living room table. My house was a wreck unless people were coming over. My husband was slowly getting tired of my homeschool things consuming our house. I had a room in mind since we moved into this house. However, my husband really wanted to use it as a spare room. After a year of having that room be a laundry room/spare room we made a change. The kids and I moved the furniture around made the room our new homeschool room.
Here is a look and the new and glorified homeschool space.
Despite my husband’s hesitation with my thoughts, he has appreciated that my school material isn’t all over our house. It’s been nice for all of us that it is confined to one room.
Here’s a list of different things that are in the room
- The Humble Crew toy organizer (I got this to organize all of Baby Cakes’ toys)
- Figures and parts of speech posters
- Laminated world map
- Days of the Week/months of the year posters
- Honey Joy kids desk
- Sauder 5 shelf Washington Cherry bookcase (I would’ve loved to have a grey or white bookcase, but this one was a lot cheaper)
- Mainstays student desk
- 6 pack digital timers (These things are so handy when my kids are doing independent work like karate practice or reading. They are always getting lost so I bought one for each of my kids)
- 3 piece ruled dry erase board
- Magnetic erase board
The other furniture we already had from cheap things we bought or that were given to us.
We haven’t been doing school very much because we’ve been on a summer vacation. My kids are homeschool year round. However, we try to chill out in the summer and mostly just read and keep up on math.
